‘Joy of Giving’ week Celebration – A visit to Ashiana Children’s Home

Education is the most powerful weapon for changing the world. However, millions of orphans and destitute are deprived of education especially computer. Though Information Technology has changed and touched every aspect of life, it is still confined to the urban populace. Rajiv Mehta, CEO of Classic Informatics, believes that if we are to become IT driven country, the benefits of Information Technology should reach to orphans and destitute as well. But many NGOs or Orphan Homes can’t afford to buy PCs for their classrooms as they need to fulfill basic needs of sheltered children. Keeping this in mind Classic Informatics decided to celebrate ‘Joy of Giving’ week with visit to Ashiana Children’s Home. Under this initiative, we handed over 25 used PCs to Ashiana Children’s Home where around 50 under-privileged and orphans are not only given shelter but education too. Children will benefit from these computers by gaining basic information technology skills and securing employment opportunities for them. We really admire the work of Ashiana Children’s Home in the community and their diligent efforts to improve the world around us. We are honored to present them with this contribution and hope that it will help to provide them with the resources they need to continue their endeavors. It is our aim to spread computer literacy to transform the lives of Orphaned and destitute children. ClassiCities are enriched with the ‘joy of giving’...

Little Art Twist

We, at Classic, believe that all work and no play definitely make office boring and monotonous. This is why we continue to introduce fun activities, host interactive events and go all out with festive celebrations to keep everyone’s mood upbeat and energies recharged! Adding that little dash of fun boosts productivity and creativity, and also promotes employee bonding. This Dussehra season, we decided to do something with a twist and introduced the Little-Art-Twist competition. This idea, introduced by Pradeep Arora, Classic’s HR Manager was about not just involving the staff but their families too! Little-Art-Twist was a drawing competition for kids (under 10 years). The parents, working at Classic, had to submit drawings and paintings done by their kids on the theme of Dussehra – Good over Evil. The paintings were to be posted on our Company’s Facebook Wall and the one with most likes would have been declared as winner. Despite a busy festive time at home, the parents managed to get their kids involved and we got eleven amazingly done paintings by little ones. The effort put behind the work was fantastic and every painting had a great message to share, some were even humorous! And once the pictures of these paintings were up on the Facebook wall, the excitement was incessant. It was only a matter of minutes and the war of likes started on Facebook! What’s best – everyone was playing sport and the spirit of Classic was commendable. In spite of competing against each other, the parents were liking and appreciating all the good work done by all participating kids. That really made us...

Gear Up – It’s Holi

The fragrance of colors in the environment makes a good mood and gives us a clue that Holi has arrived, the festival of colors and masti is near. One of the most beautiful and colorful festivals of our country is Holi, Classic Informatics has been instrumental in celebrating Holi every year with all staff members like a family. This year as well we were waiting for the Holi from a long time. The talks and planning about Holi were started right after the Jim Corbet Trip and the HR team was geared-up for yet another perfect Holi party. The last minute things were closed a week before Holi. Snacks menu was finalized, sweets were orders, Dholi and DJ were booked and colors were arranged too, wow we are ready for the Holi. A lot of our new team members who were to celebrate Holi for the first time in Classic were even more excited after knowing about previous Holi celebrations and fun stories from old employee. We celebrated Holi this year on 14th March together at both of our locations Delhi and Panchkula. CLASSICites were excited to play Holi from the morning itself; everyone was wearing white kurta’s / t-shirts or shirts as per the dress code. We gathered at around 4PM and right after our monthly chit-chats and important announcements we started playing Holi. Wait, yes the delicious snacks where ready too to get more energy before hitting the floor. The Dhol wala and DJ was warned not to stop before us. Some of us were very excited, and some were a little shy but in Classic “Nobody...

Trip to Jim Corbett

You know what they say about travel – first it leaves you speechless and spellbound. Then it turns you into a storyteller. And it’s always a beautiful tale to tell. The planning for CIPL’s yearly vacation / office trip was on since quite a few weeks. After all, planning that perfect trip does take effort, right? The location, Jim Corbett, was frozen for various reasons – firstly, it was reachable from both locations – Delhi and Panchkula. Secondly, besides enjoying in the resort and partying together, Jim Corbett was a destination that offers something more exciting – the Jungle Safari, which remains as one of the highlights of this trip. Before I go on about the great time we had, let me rant about the one thing that miserably went wrong in this trip – the traffic! Both teams, Delhi and Panchkula, took almost double the hours to reach the resort than what was estimated. Unforeseen traffic situation and ugly road conditions led to miserable delays and caused us to spent too many extra hours in the bus, just waiting for the traffic to clear out. The only solace, we were all together. You can’t imagine how much music, dancing, gossiping and games can happen when folks from Classic get together! One look at the resort and all tired faces were rejoiced. Finding this resort, Corbett Tusker Trail, was a job very well-done. It was a full package – great rooms, clean property, surrounded by greenery, a lovely swimming pool, games room with table tennis, cheese, carom board and pool, outdoor sports like cricket, football, badminton and the works,...

Independence Day celebration at Classic

On this 14th August 2013, we celebrated Ceremony of 67th Independence Day of India at Classic Informatics (P) Ltd. It has been a tradition in Classic for years now, to celebrate this day with the same enthusiasm and energy as we do for other festivals like Holi, Diwali and more. August 15 being a national holiday, we celebrated it a day before, on August 14. The office was amazingly decorated and people were immensely excited for the event. People still had memories of the great fun and celebration we had on this day last year and that was setting expectations even higher. It was great to see everyone come to office in Indian traditional attire; there were only three colors all around Saffron, White and Green. We planned an amazing evening for that day with many contests, competitions and fun activities. But the event started with National Anthem at 04.30PM. There’s no better way could be to begin the Independence Day celebration than to remember the freedom fighters, their sacrifices and the sovereignty of the country. After the National Anthem, we started with the collage making competition; the theme of it was of course related to journey of India to its Independence. Every team was given a topic to prepare and present a collage on. All the teams did a great job in collecting the information on the given topics and presented it superbly in their respective collages. Believe me, it was the toughest job for us to choose one winner out of all. In Delhi, the Android Team and in Panchkula PHP team won the competition by making...
