Crane Co., is a diversified manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products with a substantial presence in a number of focused niche markets. With approximately 11,000 employees working together across 25 countries. Its business segments are Aerospace & Electronics, Engineered Materials, and Control systems.
Crane Co. had a mechanism of approving quotes that spanned across around 15 systems and took a lot of time for approval and thus delaying the process. Crane now needed a single global quote approval system that will reduce quote approval times. Also, they need help remove the inconsistencies and redundancies of utilizing and maintaining numerously automated or manual systems.

Goals
To build a process that emphasized coordination with multiple teams. They also wanted to centralise the repository to make it easy for senior management to review. Getting rid of hierarchy and streamlining the approval process and delivering automated solutions for data analysis was another goal.
Solutions
We conceptualized a Hit Rate Approval system as an intranet-based web application that facilitates the two core processes of quote approval and hit rate recording. The app implements a single unified quote approval process for all quotes at all sites. Each site uses the application to progress its Quote approvals.

The Start

We analyzed the situation and conceptualized an intranet-based Hit Rate Approval system. It facilitated the two core processes of quote approval and hit rate recording. It also provided the business with a single database of all quote hit rate information which will ultimately be used for hit rate reporting.
