Interactive Digital Platform For Guided Trip Planning

We built an impressive digital platform to bring travelers and travel experts together, under one platform.

About RoamingDuck

Roaming Duck wishes to resolve the painstaking process required to ensure that any travelers trip runs smoothly, from searching for deals on flights to scheduling every activity. It aimed to help travelers visiting unfamiliar places with information and guidance on places to visit, cost distribution, and more.

They decided to build and deliver a powerful online platform that could help travelers plan trips with proper guidance. This could be through a travel expert with several years of experience under their belt or via traveler’s own friends.

The Start

RoamingDuck wanted a platform that could run on both mobile and web OS, without interruption. They wanted it to be easy-to-use and engaging to the core, which could effectively connect the traveler with their friends or the travel expert(s). Apart from that, they wanted it to be device-compatible. It should also help the traveler through and through, right from chatting, budget allocation, and calculation to ticket and accommodation booking and beyond.

We suggested a web application with responsive functionality for Roaming Duck. MERN stack, with its wide full-stack library and features, served as the core technology for the MVP. We decided to build a  two-view dashboard for the platform which shows the itinerary side and the chat side simultaneously. It would serve three types of users- travelers, travel experts, and admin.

Technologies Used

Core Tech

We used MERN Stack and Node.js framework for backend and chat functionality.

Frontend Tech

We used ReactJS library and Redux-Saga for the frontend of the web app.

Database

For the database part of the web application, we chose MongoDB as the tech.
