Atlas, formerly Elements Global, is a Chicago-based technology company with a platform for global business expansion, employee onboarding, payroll, and cross-border compliance across 160+ countries and 90+ languages.

They required a complete product revamp — rebranding from Elements Global to Atlas — and migration to modern technology to meet growing enterprise demand for international workforce management.

The Challenge

  • The existing platform lacked features and UX quality expected by enterprise customers managing global teams.
  • The rapid rise of remote work created demand the platform was not architected to handle.
  • Compliance with local employment regulations across 160+ countries required significant feature investment.
  • Localising an enterprise-grade experience for employees across 90+ languages was technically complex.

Our Approach

1. Full product assessment before rebuilding

Classic Informatics evaluated the existing platform end-to-end — identifying feature gaps, UX shortfalls, and technology constraints before proposing a structured rebuild strategy.

2. Technology stack modernisation

The team migrated to React.js for the front end, .NET Core and Node.js for the backend, and SQL Server with Azure Functions — a stack chosen for enterprise-grade scalability and long-term maintainability.

3. Two-track delivery: payments and HCM

Work was structured around Atlas's two core product segments — payments and HCM — ensuring each area received dedicated focus and could progress independently where needed.

4. Rebrand integrated with product development

The transition from Elements Global to Atlas was not purely a visual exercise — the team aligned new UX patterns, feature delivery, and product positioning with the new brand identity throughout the build.
