Client Overview

Next3PL is an Australian third-party logistics provider offering end-to-end order management from procurement to fulfilment, shipping millions of units monthly for 130+ eCommerce brands across 20+ countries.

As a multi-country fulfilment platform, they needed to scale operations, replace manual paper-based processes with digital workflows, and automate fulfilment functions to support global growth.

The Challenge

  • Order picking, courier selection, and warehouse receipts were managed manually on paper.
  • No digital documentation system existed to support bulk order processing at scale.
  • The existing platform lacked features needed to operate as a global, multi-country fulfilment provider.
  • Disconnected processes made it difficult for vendors, warehouse staff, and administrators to collaborate.
  • Scaling to thousands of daily orders required automation the current platform could not provide.

Our Approach

1. Platform audit before building

Classic Informatics analysed Next3PL's existing platform to identify where manual processes were concentrated and which operations would benefit most from digitisation and automation.

2. Microservices architecture for modularity

Rather than rebuilding a monolithic system, the team developed separate microservices for each operational area — warehouse management, customer portal, and courier selection — allowing independent deployment and scaling.

3. Core product delivery first

Work began with v1.0 of the customer portal and Genisys (the warehouse management system) — two foundational products that immediately automated significant portions of daily operations.

4. Continuous feature expansion

Once core systems were live, the team moved to new automation modules — bulk order auto-processing, real-time inventory reporting, and courier selection — layering capabilities in iteratively.

What We Built

Warehouse Management System (Genisys)

  • Genisys WMS v1.0 with automated order processing workflows
  • Real-time inventory visibility and reporting for warehouse staff
  • Digital warehouse receipts replacing paper-based documentation

Customer Portal

  • Vendor-facing customer portal for order creation and management
  • Bulk order auto-processing functionality
  • Role-based access for customers, warehouse staff, pickers, and administrators
